how would "everything" be custom? why wouldn't the stock intercoolers work--especially if the terminal ends to the turbos were fabbed specifically for an SOHC?

i'll give you that it wouldn't be extremely cheap; however, if such a kit makes all the DOHC upgrades bolt-on, why wouldn't it be worth it? i'm thinking that you could probably sell all of the SOHC specific stuff as a kit for ~$1000. that means that you'd only have to shell out ~$600-1000 more to get the stock TT stuff to finish it. (not including supporting mods). to me, that's a pretty sizeable bargain.

As I said it was looked into probably 6 years ago. It was of the basic concensus that it would cost more than double to TT a SOHC than it would to TT a DOHC because of all the custom parts required. Its much further ahead to just do a single turbo and use less custom parts.

    wtf?

how would it use "less custom parts"? EVERYTHING on a single-turbo kit for SOHC would have to be custom. how is that better?

what has to be made custom? i'd like to see a list. personally, i can't think of anything other than a downpipe, headers, connections to fit the stock IC piping to the turbos, and perhaps custom intake piping for the stock bubble.

    The list will include:
    frotn and rear headers
    fornt and rear )2 pipes
    Down pipe
Oil feed lines and adapter bungs
    Return Lines
    FMIC Kit
    Intake pipes
    Oil Cooler with lines
    TT oil filter adapter
    Price of 1900.00

Customer would need to supply their own turbos and oil pan a good set of 9bs can be picked up for under 300 and oil pans are pretty cheap from cherry hill or GZP I would think it would run about 2,500 total but you would have all the options the DOHC do

The thread is from several years ago. I'm not going to go on 3si and find it. I've managed to avoid that place for 5 months now, I'm not going to change that.

that sounds like a decent deal to me; especially considering it includes practically everything but turbos. dunno on the oil pan; is it possible to just tap the stock one? is the SOHC pan identical to the DOHC one? (same as tt but without the taps?)

considering what you can get a decent set of used td04's for...this is a massive improvement. cheaper than rippmods supercharger, and with the upgrade routes already mapped out. cash, MONEY!

    p.s.

my only comment would be that you might want to offer this with only bare-essentials. just for those people who want to use as much of the stock tt stuff as possible. it might cut down the overall cost for some people--making it attractive to a broader range of customers.

    Subscribed!

What about injectors? Will the customer have to supply those too?

Interested in seeing the pics for the SOHC set up and let us know when the kit is on the website!
