    LMI ? TURBO BOB? questions

I bought some turbos from a guy from the other site. He told me he wasn't lmi, I don't know, I only delt with him, I did get my turbos back in a very fast order. And they seemed to look good, didnt run them yet , car is almost done though. I didn't know if anyone has any info if they are the same? If not anyone run these turbos yet, I have 15gs, and I plan on pushing them the hardest they will go, no really I am, I plan to. Try and tap out past 500 with them.

Any info guys? I haven't been around in some time.

Wait, so you're saying you bought turbos from Turbo Bob, correct? If so, you should be fine. If I recall, he is known for good work.

yes, I delt with a guy. That know this guy called turbo bob. They seemed good, he said that this guy isn't lmi he promises and he runs he turbos, they ran a couple threads for 15gs then 19ts. I send in my stock turbos got them converted, and back to me, with in a couple weeks. I have just seen a lot of lmi threads and got scared. Lol

Another member on the other site (Leroy) had turbo bob do a set of 15g turbos for him, however turbobob didn't put in the heat shields. Turbobob responded to Leroy's inquiry and said it wasn't necessary to have those on. (It is very necessary if you want your turbo to have a long life). The member (Leroy) sent the turbos to us and we just took them apart today to go over them and install the heat shields. Besides the head shields not being installed, (the heat shields are on the turbine side in between the turbine wheel and the CHRA, it is what helps keep the oil in the CHRA from baking and then causing turbo failure), we also noticed that it appears he did not balance them either.

Not trying to scare anyone but just be aware that you may want to look over your turbos from him very carefully.

I was unaware of this, thanks for the insight. I've been off the other site for a while now.

Today we were looking over turbo bobs 15G's that Leroy sent us and I have some bad news for anyone that bought "15G's" from him. They are not 15G's. They are 11G's.

AGAIN, look over your 15G turbos from turbo bob, these ones were supposed to be 15G's but they are 11G's. They have the same blade configuration because they are both G compressor wheels, but it is 1/2 cm smaller.
