I just wanted to add in for whoever may be interested, that Asus laptop rocks. My gf got one and loves it. It rocks starcraft II and many other games without any hesitation, very clean design on the laptop, awesome sound and the illuminated keys makes for more pleasant late nights doing homework or whatever you do. It is definitely a desktop replacement, that bad boy is a beast to lug around all day unless you leave it stationary in the car or just do one trip to and from the office.

    1600x900 on a 17" screen. i don't have cataracts yet; so mega-SIZED pixels aren't necessary.

It really is a nice laptop. I bought a few one of which was going to replace my Gateway laptop and I'm glad I did. I still haven't gotten my games on here yet, but I know it'll handle anything I can throw at it. I'm very pleased with it and Asus makes very good computers.

If anyone is wondering why I had gone with the Gateway laptop I chose to do so because it was a good gaming laptop and it can be upgraded. The LCD screen, hard drive, ram, processor, and optical drive are ALL upgradeable to something better. I never got around to doing so because it handled anything I could do on it, but if I had a choice I'd probably put a T9300 2.5GHz processor in or a X9000 2.8GHz processor.

I have an Asus G60vx with the same CPU and video card and it's a fantastic laptop. Very solid and plays the games I like to play without any hesitation - Battlefield 2 and Star Trek Online. The card is basically a 9800GT with dedicated memory. I've had my Asus for a little over a year and it still seems very fast. This is coming from someone who will upgrade the second it seems even marginally slow.

    Good luck with the sale!

Thanks! I need to get them up on ebay. I added some pics. These both have a glossy finish so it does attract fingerprints, but they're easily cleaned.
