    Question...

I'm thinking about buying a set of Federal 595 RS-R (R Spec) tyres. But I'm wondering if the extra grip could result in something giving way other than the tyres..
I do some short course racing which involves a standing start, so I usually launch with a tiny bit of wheelspin..
    Anyone had experience here ?

Car is BPU TT GTO with 13gs to be fitted soon..

As long as your not dumping the clutch the drivetrain should hold just fine, i've been on the stock drivetrain for a couple years without any problems besides an output shaft wearing out. If its treated right it can handle a lot.

The one thing to be sure of is that all 4 tires are the same diameter. If they are different sizes they will take out the driveline real quick.

It really depends on what you have in your driveline. 5 speed, 6 speed? If 5 speed, is it 18 spline or 25 spline?

Then it should be an 18 spline. I would consider upgrading the output shaft. Other than that, the trans is pretty stout. The transfer case is always a risky item, but you should be ok with a 13G turbo setup on a stock transfer case.

I feel you, I still havent all out launched my car for fear of breaking something then taking 1000$ or more to fix, and the car being down a couple weeks....

It's all in the launch technique though, do as Austin says, dont dump the clutch.
