I'm almost positive that Andy Whitfield would love to return to Spartacus, instead of having to deal with cancer.

I'm disappointed he will not be returning but I wish the best for him.

At least this one is a prequal, so they are not replacing his character but bringing back all those who were killed last season.

Hopefully he will have a full recovery and the third season will start off where the first one left off.
