    jdm trans vs usd trans

    hi just wondering if the bell housing and caseing is the same from the 6spd US version to the jdm version i know internaly they are different to some degree how about the case?

    I believe they are the same. I think Michael [ MR2 ] fitted a Broomfield billet end casing to his JDM 6 speed. My understanding is that only the 6th speed gearing is different.

    The casings are the same. It's the final drive that is different (front diff ring gear and the gear that slides over the output shaft to engage the front diff). I don't know about the 6th gear being different.

    ok thanks guys. for 6 months ive been trying to find a bellhousing for my trans as it was just rebuilt. but if i can buy a jdm trans and swap the good bell housing over and tear apart the end case and have that 1 welded b4 tearing my good 1 apart
