    Programmable stock ECU

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mines...Q5fAccessories

check out this ebay for sale. Its a mines ECU which is probably the same as techtom or gforce. If I was to purchase this, would I be able to re-program it? Obviously I am not sure it would even work on a hybrid, but I am really curious since I have an AEM and have not yet been very satisfied with the daily driver characteristics of the unit/tune. Well, I know it does not match my 1995 Md# so its probably no good for me but maybe it will help someone else.

All the Mines ECUs I've seen just have a new CPU chip that had been burned with their changes. Hard to say the box and ribbon cable are for. None of the others I've worked on had them. Assuming that is has a techtom EPROM adaptor is a bit of a leap from those pictures.

It`s a 3 plug ECU, don`t the `95s use a 4 plug ECU?. Also they don`t mention anywhere that it can be reprogrammed so it would be a real gamble if you bought it.

Would you not be better going for a `99 ecu and look into re-flashing that (don`t know if it`s a direct swap or not).

99 ecu is nowhere near direct swap.

I had posted about this a while ago on 3Si.

There are also ECU replacements (JDM cars only?) sold on the Mine's website called VX-ROM, which as I understand have a generic map on them that supposedly will benefit our cars (stock or BPU I guess). They can only be remapped by sending them back to Mine's I think. Not worth it IMO.
