    Stealths should go first.
I was told 120mph just to stay on the track!
I've never driven 120mph so I'll just hang in the back!

if that's true...(and the "no side-by-side" stuff is too) then i doubt they'll allow passing. so in that case, we should be lined up by hp; highest numbers in front.

Granny, the banks are only 9 degrees, I don't think that you need to be going 120 to stay on a turn that slopes 9 degrees.

Oh geez... Here we go. I MAY have misunderstood - I have no clue. I was told that our pace cars cannot go side-by-side with the IMS pace car. It's my assumption that no one will be side-by-side, but I could be wrong on that. Remember - NOT A CAR GIRL. Just doing the best I can, and maybe I misunderstood. We are NOT going to drive them crazy asking them all of these questions. We can find out some of this when we get there or when we talk to them again, but I won't (and Peggy won't) continue calling them for every little thing. LET IT GO. Enjoy the fact that we're going to get to do this. If we drive them crazy, they can still take it away. Let's focus on the positive and not worry about the unknowns.

Most pace laps I've been on or heard of are single file just to make it as safe as possible. With that said pace laps are typically around 60mph but, depending on the driver of the pace vehicle, can go a bit quicker. I wouldn't be expecting anything near 100mph though.

that's pretty much what i was expecting. 60 mph is easy to do 3-wide on a track like that--but it may very well be single-file. i'd LOVE to get the chance to go balls out for a lap though.

    p.s.

...that gives me an idea. i wonder if i could get the base commander on board with a public track day. use the 12,000' runway for a top-speed dragstrip....

Vicki and I were discussing this on our trip to our SC house yesterday (more sanding the floors...yay...)

I said it should go like this, and it would make for great pictures:

Go by year. 1991 first thru 1999 last
and as much as you can go by color. So Front of the line is 1991's rows of Red, then rows of black, then white etc.

As they are rolling by the Pictures of the progression of the platform would be rolling by and all in color sections.

As far as Stealth/3000GT, that's a coin toss. The pace is a stealth, so even though I am partial to the 3000GT, maybe stealth? Or maybe alternating line by line.

I think this would be best.

I'm supremely jealous of all of you that can attend the NG...

I'll have to look into it but I highly doubt I'd be able to go, but damn, would a lap around Indianapolis Speedway be the highlight of my life...
