Buying a used flat panel LCD

I know nothing about these TV's. What should I look for before I buy a used one. I know I need a game plan. I plan making them demonstrate the TV before I buy it. But do they need bulbs replaced periodically? I know on some of the projection sets you can check out how many hours are left. Any advice would be appreciated.

LCD/LED tv's do not have bulbs. Projection TVs do and Plasmas can burn out... I don't think you can replace whatever burns out (plasmas.)

New TV's are soooo cheap right now. What size are you looking for?

An LCD should last a looooong time. I've never had an LCD panel just die, usually they get hit by something and the screen physically cracks.

For the price they are I would buy a new one personally, deffinitely go for 1080p if you`re into gaming on the TV (xbox360 or PS3).

I bought a Samsung 7000 series LED TV before chrismas and it`s got a stunning picture.

I want something big, like 60 inches or so. I see the LCD's going for 600 at 60+ inches. Which seems good for something that is going to be $1200 new. I've been thinking about going smaller and getting new. I'm setting up a home media network. Starting with the TV I want 1080p native resolution and thats the bottom line really. Need HDMI and PC input as well.

front projectors with 1080p are in the $1500 range now. and if you hunt, you might be able to find ones that have LED bulbs, instead of conventional halogen/xenon bulbs.

...guess what i'll be getting after my next PCS?

LCD's do have bulbs(CFL), which do, but rarely burn out. (I have had 1 out of 10).

For practical use there are no LED tv's. What is advertised as 'LED TV' is really an LCD tv with an LED backlight.

DO NOT pay $100 for brand name hdmi cable's. Get it on ebay.

Only thing is check for dropped pixels on the LCD...

I think they tested monster cables vs a $6 HDMI cable and seen no difference.
