not sure what you mean by approved. i took the car to the mitsu dealer, got the estimate, scanned and emailed to the insurance company. apparently their adjuster came out, and that's what i ended up with.

Like I said, take it to your insurance agent. The claim is still open so he/she will know what to do to help you.

My parents own their own insurance agency. When I questioned my dad about it, he asked if the quote had been approved by the insurance company. Like everyone else has said, talk to your agent. He can help you, its his job to fight for you.

anytime when starting a repair the body shop usually find more damage, i have a friend thay has a on going battle ,, he was hit headon in his 2010 dodge challenger, it is a rare model so he wanted it repaired instead of salvage, the insurance co agreed probably because both he and his wife went to the hospital, his wife was on her way home from the hospital from a knee replacement so she was injured .. the first estimate was for 15000 and was oked, then after the body shop started it went to 20000 and was oked. in the meantime the dealer called him and told him they got a new mopar 10 and come out and look at it. he made a deal to buy it with getting a 23000 trade in. the dealed thougth he could sell it for 27000. so the dealer sent his shop guy to look at the car and found out the repair is now 27000 so they wont take it. he then went back to the dealer and just bougth the mopar 10 , now the war is on between him and insurance. the car dealer has a lawer who is chomping to take his case. so in the meantime he has his new mopar 10 chysler has a special presentation when you buy one of these but the company officials could not come due to holidays and will do it later, i have not seen the car yet but it is black with black wheels . i told him to try and but it back, the reason thr repair is high is they are using oe replacment parts..so hold out cashing the check as there may be more damage than you know

It's also best to get multiple quotes. The best thing to do is find a shop that is an authorized repair center for the insurance company that is paying. Have them give you a quote but don't tell them its for so and so insurance so they don't low-ball.

Most insurance companies probably aren't going to pay the full price from a dealership to repair the car so your estimate is probably on the high side.
