Animal cruelty would not ever bring a death penalty. Virginia couldn't bring charges because it would have been double jeapordy.

I absolutely despise people who conduct, promote, and condone willful acts against pets that have been bread through time to be subservient to humans for emotional gain.

I have owned 6 pits, 4 of which are/were rescues. I am in no way a pita freak, or a tree huger. I hunt elk/deer (archery), I fish, and every now and then enjoy upland game bird hunting.

If you have actually owned a pit and KNOW what kind of dog they really are, and have personally seen a staged fight, I doubt you would brush this aside as easily. I have a deep HATRED for Vick and all that breed for this reason. It literally turns my stomach thinking about it as i type.

I agree with the time served for the offense philosophy. I do not agree with how the prick was idolized by some youth because of his status in the NFL and the dog fighting bit. Yes, idolized. Younger guys at work could do nothing but talk about him and how he was framed and so on when he got out. One of the local tv stations did interviews on the subject and it was for the most part pathetic...

Sorry for the rant. It hits a nerve...

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

The only reason Vick was picked up is because he is an amazing athlete. If it would have been a lesser known NFL player his career would have been done at the drop of the gavel.
He payed his debt to society. When he first got out of jail he had to prove that he could still play. Evidently he can, because he is now one of the best qb's in the country.

The NFL is definatly part of the work force, those guys work hard every single day. You can't just show up game day and expect to preform. They are all essentially working under the head coach, who is the manager, and the owner, as an employee of the franchise.

Vick can find the highest point in his house and fall on a sharp object. I hope he ends up in a wheelchair to end his career.

So do you all think that those who have committed crime should never be forgiven? There is a reason why so many of those who are arrested once, continue to be arrested in the future, and create a criminal career for themselves. Someone that has a criminal record, and is poor has no chance of having a normal life again. If we give them jobs, then maybe crime would go down. Instead, they will be a drain on the system.

I'm a huge dog lover and was disgusted at what Mike Vick did. But honestly, the way he handled himself afterwards shows the true person he is. He never bitched, never complained, just did his time and paid his debt. He volunteers around Philly and seems to be doing all he can to turn a new page in his life. THAT, I have admiration for. Better than all the other whiney baby celebs out there who weasel out of their 5th DWI or 4th possession charge for that pound of blow in their Bentley. At least Vick owned up and paid his debt.

And he's playing his ass off to boot.

    I can't fault him.

As for Obama, I seriously wish he'd just shut the fuck up. I'm tired of hearing his 'thoughts' on every damned subject.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.” -- Author Unknown

Obumbler certainly jinxed the Iggles. They should have played Sunday; hate to agree with Rendell on anything....but how often does Buffalo or Pittsburgh postpone a game

He doesn't seem to be the good luck charm.
