Where to put new 02 bung for AEM Wideband?

Been researching for a little bit and I am finding all sorts of opinions. Who knows the best place to put a new 02 bung for my wideband?

I have all new aftermarket exhaust from the header back and I would like to get this installed before I install the new downpipe (3sx generic), rear precat eliminator (3sx), and single shot exhaust (ips).

There will be no cats on the car... I hear its best to have the bung welded in at an angle higher than 3 and 9 o'clock positions and to have it located where the two pipes converge to one. Is this true? Where is the best placement for the most accurate readings?

    Thanks

    John

Put it anywhere downstream of the collector on the downpipe.

Most accurate readings can differ with the O2 sensor. I kind of recall hearing about 36" from the cylinder somewhere, but that's something you might want to ask AEM (unless somebody knows for sure). You'll likely be perfectly fine with what R/T93 suggested, I've never heard of any problems doing that. Definitely have it installed in at an angle higher than the 3 to 9' o clock positions. If you don't, condensation will mess up the sensor.

I've always heard to have it mounted above the 9 or 3'oclock position and right after where both banks meet up. That's how mine is installed

Just search "aem wideband instructions" and it tells you where to put it.

If you have a skilled welder you can weld the bung into the test pipe, there is enough room about 3-5" from the front of it, at around 11 o clock looking from the rear. Thats where we welded mine and there is plenty of height for the sensor and wiring. I still havent even installed my damn Innovative XD16, really need to get it put in and tuned right, I am running rich as hell, my tailpipes get black in like 100 miles.

36" from the cylinder is the proper location.

I mounted mine at the collection point right on top pointing straight down. It took some test fitting so that I didn't hit the underside of the car of the sub-frame. I have a 3SX DP and right above the collection point is a nice void for the O2 sensor to hide!

the way i put mine in was to drill a 1/2 inch hole where you want it and use a used 02 sensor screwed in the bung and the tip of the 02 sensor will put the bung on center with the hole when you weld it on. put it where stealthee says and about 10 or 11 oclock ..
