The three stray dogs lived near the barracks and were really friendly with the coalition soldiers. They never harassed or threatened any human, but when a suicide bomber got past the defenses and tried to sneak into the barracks, the dogs recognized that he had bad intentions and flat out attacked. He was overwhelmed and detonated right there and then, killing himself and Sasha, one of the dogs who had bitten and latched onto the bomber. The other two dogs were flanking the bomber and barking like mad; they were far enough away to survive, but were severely injured.
The two survivors have since recovered and finally got their reward: shipped back to the USA to be adopted by their favorite soldier (one of the fifty men in the barracks that the dogs protected from the bomber).
No wonder the insurgents hate dogs!
