    heat shields

do I have to put them back on, or can I get away with just wrapping stock exhaust manifolds and call it a day?
Those, who stand for nothing, will fall for anything.
On the Internet you can be anything you want. It's strange that so many people choose to be stupid.

You don't even need to wrap them. I run shield less except for the rear most shield.

Vacuum reduction, Powdercoated misc, cruise relocate, Evo9 BOV, Custom catch cans, Russell fuel filter, SS braided fuel lines, High flow fuel loop, Autogage fuel gauge, Catless DP, DNP Y-pipe, Fuel pump hotwire.

I worry about long run (road course) rather than short (drag). in 15 min it probably will get very warm in there.

I've run my car at Watkins Glen without the shields and on the road for a year without them. No issues.

ok, unless someone objects to this, I'm gonna just wrap my manifolds (just to be safe) and that would be the end of it.

A lot of people who wrap their exhaust end up having it crack.

Good to know. Do you know where the cracking takes place, or is it random under the wrap?

I dont know. Its all I have ever heard over the years. It seems to make sense too since wrapping the exhaust makes the exhaust retain the heat even longer, instead of being able to disperse it and let the air cool it.
