Sandblasting and Poweder coating

I want to powder coat my VC, intake, and a few smaller parts. I read that sand can get stuck in the VC after sandblasting, and was wondering how? Can I just tape off the bottom and any hole. I don't see the point of sandblasting the underside of the VC.

You have to be very careful with masking it off, if theres even the smallest hole sand will get in there. Also if your blasting for long enough you run the risk of just blowing right through the tape.

Like anything else you just have to be very careful and take your time doing it.
