    1g Brake Pads

    Hey lads

I need new brake pads, my brakes are stock, early 1st gen but I would not have a clue where to look, what part numbers or anything, i'd like to save myself the mechanic and do it myself this time round, I know last time he got aftermarkets way easy over here but fuck knows where. Any hints as to what I need would be awsome.

Wherever you do end up going, they'll probably need to order them in. Also see if you can get a picture of the pads before buying because some aussie catalogs list the wrong part number for the pads. Ours are a fairly square looking pad. I've always gone with EBC - currently running reds, but have had greens and blacks in there too.

Actually there was a break thread over in 3si and I remember removing mine to find out what they were and posted the codes. Can;t remember the name of the thread though. Also I have heard good things about endless pads. They will be my next pad.

apparently we use similar pads to skylines. i asked my mechanic awhile ago wen i needed them replaced, couldnt find any available for our cars so he did a bit of research and found the skyline brake pads fit our cars

the brand i used was Bendix, would probably recommend something better, lol

Hey guys, wrx (non brembo), s15 and skylines use almost exactly the same pad as us. I've changed my pads at least 6 times by now so take my word on it lol. Bendix ultimate is a very good bang for your buck. Awesome pedal feel and thermal properties without costing an arm and a leg. imho You can get better but going to have to pay about 3 times more. Let me know if you need the exact part number should be able to dig it up.

    Cheers

I've run the Suby pads and they were alright. Just for round town driving. Project Mu were awesome. EBC Green Stuff were rubbish. Endless would be good but I can never justify spending extra when it's not for racing.

Had the Bendix Ultimates on my Mazda MX-6 GT Turbo and they are great but too much dusting. Fine if you plan on cleaning the car and wheels a lot. But not for a lazy SOB like me
