Scoote II hood Mini Review

Before the Pics..

I bought the Carbon Fiber Hoods (on ebay at the time) Scoote II Hood, I think that the lines of the hood match up with our stock curves in our cars, the Top secret is just too angular for our cars (my opinion) so I bought it and sent it over to good 'ol Australia.

it was well packed and arrived with no damage, all the bolts lined up and with a little adjusting it's currently fitting quite nicely!

ok so here's my list of "stuff" about it:

1, the hood has less height than the stock hood, so strokers won't fit...or I'll have to chop it when I go to fit the Stroker + mivec heads.
2, the frame around the gils is not actually attached to the top of the bonnet, I'll be bonding this to give considerable extra strength.
3, the hood is 99% perfect, to get it just right I need to round some of the edges slighly and oval my hinges a little to allow it to be 2mm further forward, the hood seems to slighly lift at the right hand side...need to investigate why this is..but pins will fix it.
4, to get the latch to work I had to slightly bend it towards the car, I suspect it was bent due to the stock hood being dropped too many times.
5, I will need to get it painted black...and maybe some fabric over the vents to make them less noticable!
6, the hood seems to vent a LOT of air, when the radiator fans are running there is a LOT of heat pushing out.
7, I still need to do something to keep the rear turbo cool.
8, still needs the flush pins

Awesome, I like it (very biased opinion here) , but seriously I do like it, I think when it's painted black it will have some of those sexy rx7 looking curves to it that will match nicely with the kouki 3000gt body. Do you mind if I feature your fiberglass scoot 2 hood on our site? I would also like to use your review so others know the pros and cons of the hood if you don't mind, thanks for posting the review.

Feel free to use the images etc, sorry about the quality, can I ask one favor though...could you if possible remove the images that are in the set of search results but obviously for a different car. when I was buying it seeing those made me feel a little unsure as to what I was recieving.

anyway as I get around to finishing it off I will post more (better)pictures.

are the vents centered on your hood? mine are slightly off center.

personally yes...our roads are so bad I my wheels hit my guards regularly even on coil overs...

I think I measured and the vents were ~2.5mm too one side, is it just me or do your vents look further back?

Sorry I meant the picture from Inperf. and not wheel gap, but the gap between the hood and the fender.

I'm considering a lighter hood (not this one) and fittement is one of my concern.

Do the toes on the back side of the hood come stock? JK to each his own sir

Yea i thought the same thing before i read TT Eric's post.(good call)That looks more like a forced bend to me.Tight at the hinges and latch,bent in the fender middle.Maybe some washers at the hinges could ease it up.Common enough problem.
Please tell me if i'm right or wrong.

Wait a sec.Did you have to put the mesh venting in?

Toes come with my stock girlfriend

my hood is slighly bent (slighly lifted by a few mm at the right hand side), but when you use hood pins as you should it will bring it back down...the mesh in the vents comes stock.
