i was the platform guinea pig for this hood. i haven't replaced it, despite its flaws, because everything else out there is shit currently (i don't want a scooped hood).
that said, here's what needs to be done with a scootie 3:
1. vents centered down the centerline of the car.
2. center section raised 1-2" to allow for bigger vents and/or greater clearance to the engine. it would also allow for running a strut bar.
3. gaps on sides & front need to be minimalized & normalized. front gap could be reduced by 1/4-1/2" or so easily.
4. needs a fourth row of vents centered over the rear bank/rear turbo. could be formed into a quasi-cowl hood if necessary.
5. latch needs to be modified to fit stock latching mechanism without tweaking. safety-catch needs to be covered in metal to prevent wear.
6. needs eyelids. preferably convex ones.
7. vent screens need to be secured better. edges around vents need to fasten top layer to underlayer fiberglass to better prevent separation.
if the mfg. does these 7 things, i'll be the first to buy a new hood. i'm also willing to pay almost double what they're currently selling for--assuming these issues are properly addressed. and i'm even willing to take high-resolution photos and grant free use of them for sales purposes.
it really sucks that options are so limited for this platform.
