Yeah, thats exactly why i cut them out, i might weld the passenger ones in again, but on my side i like to sit so close to the steering wheel that my head touches the roof with no headliner in the car. When i put a helmet on i have to squish down a little and stick my head over to the sunroof area where it raise up a little

The seat should be a good 2 inches lower this way which will be great for headroom because the Kirkey is short as it is.

Heres what i just did, found a few things that need to be changed, the clutch pedal setup is one of the big ones.

removed the steering column support as well, this will be built right into the cage.

We follow the earth. The earth follows the stars. The stars know their way and though the body dies. The stars will remain, like the waves of the sea and restless slate.

eviscerate the roof. cut out all of the inside of it until you reach the a-pillars, windshield support, and hatch support. then make a CF replacement for it.

are the side windows lexan? are they fixed in place? why do you still have plastic on the inside of the doors? if the windows are fixed, you can probably save some weight by shaving the inside door panel off & welding a tube or two in place of them.

you are a brave man cutting out the dash bar. my cage guy asked if i wanted mine gone but i wanted it for the extra body stiffness.

are you going to add gussets to the a-pillar at least? otherwise the body flex might crack the windshield...

my bad. that last pic kinda made it look like you still had the interior "plastic wrap" on the doors. you can pull those plastic fasteners though...

You all should friend him on Facebook. You'll see why he has to shave so much weight off the car once you see the photos he posts of what he eats!
