Septic systems are limited life systems, albiet a long life span, they are still viewed as limited life by the EPA. Aeration systems are mini sewage treatment plants and as long as the electric powers the aerator and the up flow filter is cleaned every few years, they just keep on going. The point is, both systems are not as issue free as city sewers, so the less shit put into the system, the less shit you have to worry about.

Well I work from home sooo...yes I do myself. Do I encourage anyone else to? Absolutely not, take your shit and go home.

But I will do everything in my power to only shit at home base. Public bathrooms...

Also have an aerator system that is around 40 years old(had it checked by the health department 5 years ago, perfect working order). Completely problem free, other than replacing the motor once(which is infinitely cheaper than a public sewage bill).

My house is 20 years old and we have only had to have the septic cleaned once. It still works flawlessly. I'll take a septic over sewage anyday just because of the savings of sewage charges.
