It's got a spun bearing, or the bearing is about to spin rod knock just started haven't ran it since. Sick of working on it. 119,000 miles. Did the 60k service during the rebuild.

good catch! We had a 98 VR4 sit for about 4 years with "rod knock". Turned out it was a wobbling crank pulley (???) or something like that. Talk about a moment.

Yeah I have heard an accessory pulley make a rod knock noise before. Glad you figured it out man.

It was the timing belt tensioner pulley going bad and knocking. Oddest thing I've ever seen.

I guess this is a good lesson. Next time I get pissed at the car I'll wait a month to calm down and decide if I want to sell it... just enough time for me to fall back in love with it.
