Aluminum 2 Piece Drive line question

I picked up the two piece aluminum drive line from 3sx which looks to be very nice.

    My question is:

Why do they not make the front section from aluminum as well? Other than a possible problem mounting the slip spline to the aluminum which could be solved with another u-joint, I see no reason not to continue the weight savings by eliminating all the steal.

I am not engineer, so I post this question to you people.

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

I had the same question...rear looks like sex..front looks like arse.

I suspect it's due to replacing the front with Alu as well costing the same as going carbon fiber and those who are to cheap to go CF needing a cheaper option...

It just comes down to cost. because of the length of the drive shaft you really dont want a one peice in aluminum. it is said it will vibrate to much. to build a full two piece aluminum would basically mean two drive shafts doubling the cost of the drive shaft. We found a company locally over here that have begun building ours for us. which will be aluminum front and rear shafts. We will start putting them to market after we test them out. we should be hitting the market for under 850.00

no one makes the slip section in aluminum and another joint would negate a lot of the benefits of trying to make the front out of aluminum.
