Aluminum 2 Piece Drive line question

I picked up the two piece aluminum drive line from 3sx which looks to be very nice.

My question is:

Why do they not make the front section from aluminum as well? Other than a possible problem mounting the slip spline to the aluminum which could be solved with another u-joint, I see no reason not to continue the weight savings by eliminating all the steal.

I am not engineer, so I post this question to you people.

I had the same question...rear looks like sex..front looks like arse.

I suspect it's due to replacing the front with Alu as well costing the same as going carbon fiber and those who are to cheap to go CF needing a cheaper option...

no one makes the slip section in aluminum and another joint would negate a lot of the benefits of trying to make the front out of aluminum.

MR2 - this is what I was talking about earlier. From 3sx's Web page. "3SX now carries PST carbon fiber drive-shafts! Weighing in at a svelte 17 pounds for the 1-piece shaft and 27 pounds for the 2-piece kit (not counting the included carrier bearing),".

And for the 2 piece steel aluminum, "This 2-piece driveshaft offers a more affordable option for saving weight in your drivetrain - 26.55 pounds versus the stock 40 pound assembly! The 26.5 pound weight is without the carrier bearing, the assembly weights 28.45 pounds with the included carrier. The back half of this setup is aluminum and features greasable and serviceable

the aluminium half of the job weigh's 3/5's of eff all..still gotta put the line down it to see if it bends

deff be keen to see a alu front end..just bolt up the two x slip sections as required loose another kg or 2 (not really worth it for the effort...but PLEASE MOM IT'S ALL SHINEY.
