1st test of the DR650 billets

hey everyone! i installed a set of the new DR650 billet turbos on my "almost stock" daily driver that went 11.29 with the OLD STYLE DR650s. I describe the car as almost stock because its a factory stock 96vr4 with 165K no weight reduction has a stereo with a sub box etc and the only mods are...

    old style DR650s
    550s
    afc maftranslator
    walbro pump
    rps clutch
    downpipe no cats

now, the ONLY DIFFERENCE is i installed the new DR650 billets.. and the next trip to the track it will be in the 10s.. on only these mods! notice the huge spool time increase in these graphs... and my old 650s outspooled most other TD04s already

changing just the turbos and left at at 19psi with 93.. old vs new

next, 25psi vs 25psi old vs new for comparison. the DIFFERENCE is the old ones wouldnt make more boost where these have waaay more room. barely 1/3 110 octane total octane less than 100. you can see ignition problems starting

next, 28psi same fuel more spark blowout. if i had a twin power these things have more room than this. when looking at my numbers REMEMBER I HAVE STOCK IC AND EXHAUST. if EITHER set were on a car with a front mount, blow through, exhaust etc etc the numbers would be higher than these although that doesnt stop me from running low 11s and will be 10s lol

overall, im impressed with the fast spool and power output! these can easily make 600 with the right mods

Wow. Are you surprised the billet wheels made such a significant difference?

yea, im definitly having fun with this. its quiet, stock looking and driving.. i can race shit without fire breathing 1000hp 2 steps lol. its nice to race regular shit on the streets like vettes and stuff. the other car i only end up racing bikes and real race cars. theres no point racing a neon at a light with that car lol.

Adam, i had high hopes with the billet wheels. my other car picked up 300whp with them! btw, i changed my plugs and it is working now

Hans, these are a great replacement for everything besides the huge shit. i wouldnt bother going TD05 when you can get the same with no lag and stock fitment

yes, the dyno is great to have around!

I have a T3 setup currently. Not sure if I want to keep with it or not. It's got huge power potential, but I really enjoy a good street car. My 13G setup was still my favorite street setup out of all of the turbo setups I've had LOL
