Thread: Inside air temperature sensor

  1. #1

    Question Inside air temperature sensor

Has anyone ever replaced it? My digital climate control's temp setting doesn't correspond to the actual inside temp arrived at -- in summer when set at 74 it will freeze me out, and in the cold at 74 it heats too hot. I have to set the digital control to about 80 in the summer and 70 in the winter to keep it comfortable. Seems like what would happen if the inside sensor wasn't working, like the climate control isn't getting the message that it's already hot or cool enough inside. How to troubleshoot?

That's a good idea. I found the wiki article on 3Si. Have you ever done this to yours? I'm OK with soldering wire A to wire B, but not much experience with pc board stuff, especially desoldering without heating up everything around it.

Mine had leaking caps and burnt out resistor and other issues. I replaced the caps and the resistor and it worked for a while then burnt the resistor out again. I didn't use the DIY I just matched the caps with the new ones of the same values and was told by a mate what value resistor to use. Replacing th caps can be hard due ot the possition of the screen etc. The screen obstructs the solder points on the back and makes it hard to get to. If your not confident take it to a someone who is.

I would, but I believe the original poster holds copyright. I'll ask if he will copy it over here.

Anyway, for the DCC you need this:

    capacitors:
    1 x 4.7uF 50V (C5)
    2 x 47uF 16V (C4, C9)
    1 x 470uF 25V (C10)
    2 x 10uF 16V (C11, C17)
    2 x 220uF 25V (C14, C15)
    all -55C to 105C rated

    and maybe these:

    diodes:
    1N4004 Generic 1 Amp diodes (D5, D6, D7)

Mine would do the same thing. My new Mitsu also does the same thing. Mitsu's climate control logic is horrible, lol. Do you have the sun sensor hooked up? I'm going to check the service manual later for the specs on that sensor so you can check it out.
