    Replace Back Seats with Carpet?

I'm looking to shed a few pounds but do NOT want to molest/gut my car. However, since I never use the rear seats I was going to remove them and the seat belts. However, my interior is tan so it's going to be hard making it look decent going from tan carpet to whatever I use to cover the metal back to the black trunk mat.

Any ideas? Where to get the carpetting? Is this going to turn out ghetto? lol

Try taking the center console carpet to Home Depot or a fabric shop and just match it up with whatever they have.

Because of the shape of the floor under the rear seats, I can't see it looking good unless you were to build something up to make it flat.

The rear seats weigh very little. I'd personally just leave them in.

i agree with Stealthee.. the rear seats weigh next to nothing... theres no point on taking them out to shed a few pounds.

I used to strip the seats out for 1/4 mileing and as evereyone says the backs don`t weight much at all, the passenger seat weighs a bloody ton though!.

This is something I've been toying with for a while. Not for weight, since the rear seats weigh nothing. No, I see no use for seats back there. I was trying to think of something I could replace the rear seats with that would be more useful.

Ya the bottoms weight literally nothing but I figured the backs and seatbelts add up..

If it won't look good I'll skip it though. I agree that it might look weird with the curve/etc. Thanks for all the input so far though!

That's what's holding me back. I haven't figured out something that won't look like ass yet.

What would be sweet is to extend the pedals/shifter/steering wheel and remove the two front seats. Talk about cheap weight reduction and leg room!
