Hey guy's, havent been here for awhile as i've been busy with other non important stuff lol

But I now find myself with a heart breaking question.. should i sell my beloved GTO??
I need to save for a stupid deposit for a house as i need to move out of home soon and i really dont want to rent!
Ive only owned her for a few months and i still havent gotten over the fact that i still own one of these things! lol

I bought a house and owned a GTO. However I then blew a head gasket 4 weeks after buying the house so I just sat the GTO in the carport under a cover till I could afford to fix it. GTO over house any day. Owning a house sucks really. Too much work and too many bills. How old are you?

Im 24 and if i sell the GTO i should have approx 50k deposit for a home. I dont really want to buy a house yet but im kind of being forced as my parents are moving up to Brisbane for the warmer climate and my folks are getting ready to retire. Moving up north isnt really in my plans. SO its either renting or buying...50k will give me a 25% deposit on a little 400k town house in the inner suburbs of Melbourne. Not a mansion but a decent start for someone my age.

Woodzy thanks for the advice..ill definately be talking to an advisor asap. Cause i plan to buy for and build for the first time ill get approx another 20k in grants...which can help towards stamp duty land rates etc...

heheh 12.5% deposit you mean. But yeh dude, I dont know a whole lot but for the past 3-4 years i've been preaching that the whole of Australia is in a real-estate bubble. I was in europe a few months ago and am telling you, compared to them we have so much land and yet we are more expensive than england in terms of real-estate. I've spoke to a few real-estate agents too and they completely agree, average income vs average property value is ridiculous and exponentially more than it was 20 years ago. I'd prob hold off on buying, besides am aiming for low 11s on the gto heheh. But really up to you at the end of the day, get the best advice you can, think 30% with your heart 70% with your head and make the best informed decisions possible.

Buy a house in this country, in this day and age......well my advise House over GTO but.....not for me, i'm not married and I live in the city of Sydney which really means that unless i win lotto i'm not even going to own my own property for anything less than 700k for a 2beddy fibro piece of crap...and with rate rises atm and GFC shit going on........Don't do it yet man ...it's a really bad time.
Honestly dude see a financial advisor to see what reality can bring you....it's a massive decision and the 20k for your wheels could really help.
Seriously man the Govn'mt like this week is offering no stamp dute on new land property and 22.5% discount on stamp if you already started building 'trying to suck you in' ....rates are still going up man..banks are fucking everyone....just wait 12 months at least.

Housing is at an all time low....not for the buyer...but for the seller. Sounds like you'd be sittin pretty but be way careful.

Shit is so bad here in Sydney ppl are actually selling homes so they can rent instead.....better living conditions belive it or not.

In QLD it may not be so bad atm....but we all know that what hits Sydeny first always translates to bad times for the rest of the country.
