Picture Request: Fuel Door Back Side + Gas Cap

I think the clip/spring the opens the gas door went bad and I need to open it for obvious reasons.

I'm going to use some fishing line to try to open it but need to know where it's safe to try this from.

I already checked the pull wire lever and that seems to be fine.

When I first got my car the clip was missing, you needed two people to open it. Have someone pull the lever as you pull open the door. Sorry ahead of time if you already tried this.

My insomnia helps you out tonight. I took a bunch of pics but I thought this would be the most helpful for what you are trying to do. On a side note, I think it's time to head to the car wash.

Ding ding ding. I was able to get the fishing line from the top to the bottom, and pull this cap open. I used a cloth on both ends to protect the paint. (Cloth you use to clean sunglasses fits in there nicely). Sure enough the clip was missing. And yes you do need 2 people, one to pull the lever.
