    Unhappy Need a gearbox case

    Actually, I need the case.

I know one of the boys over east has a case and box for sale, but I dont have that money handy. Mike - do you still have that box lying around? If you do, I would love those casings if you dont want them. and still have them. The gearbox shop said it would be too risky to weld as it's the t-case area and will heat up causing more problems.

    Thanks.

Hi Scotty, I would consider taking it to an engineering / welding works and getting them to take a look at it , they should be able to grind it out and TIG weld it without any problem , regardless of location on housing . This should be a lot cheaper and easier than replacing that bell housing section. ( maybe 1 hour labour @ $ 100.00 ? ) I brought an mid case section off Supercar Engineering second hand , but i don't think he has a bell housing in stock any more .May be worth sending him an Email to enquire .
    Good luck
    Adrian

I know you're looking for one on your side of the world, but if you don't have any luck, I've got a few of them...

For what it's worth, I'd weld that in a heartbeat... It's not a stress crack from use, it split when the threads got wadded up. Weld up the crack, heli-coil the bolt hole, and you'll be set.

Roger that thanks guys. Like I said, the guys who put the case back together took it to their welder and he said not to. I'll take it somewhere else.

As the TC bolts over it there is nothing stopping you from welding it then welding another piece of plate against it for extra strength.
