I'm interested but,
why does it need a new engine?
No offense but I buy and sell alot and I'd never get close to that, more like maybe half, if its a 171000 mile car that needs an engine and a trans rebuild?

Its got a bad rod/bearing. I rebuilt the engine 1200 miles ago. I used a reground forged crank from NAPA. They did a horrible job cleaning the crank so it was full of blasting/grinding material. I did my best to clean it out with carb cleaner, gun cleaning kit and compressed air. I didnt go as far as drilling out the balls for the oil galleys to properly clean. After about 500 or so miles I began to hear a mild knock. I pulled te pan and sure enough a bearing had worn badly, but didnt spin. I polished the crank even though there were some good scratches on the journal that had the bad bearing and replaced all the rod bearings, the mains were fine. After about 1000 miles I once again began to hear knock, at this point I had given up and drove it anyway. Then on my way home from work this Thursday it spun the bearing or at least I assume so. I pulled over and had the car towed. It still runs but has a bad knock on one rod, fairly certain it spun and would need a mininum of a new crank and rod with all the bearings.
I realize the price is a bit high, I am willing to go down some but am not in a rush to move it either.
