In my experience this does mean the MAF is bad.
If your MAF is bad it should throw a CEL. When you say it doesn;t run does it not start or does it idle out?

I would suggest MAF, as I just seen this on a car last night...
Your in the FL area so you have afew people you can get a working MAF off of either be for testing or replacement
I was with jbuhrman last night when this happened to one of the socal3s members and I knew what it was instantly because my maf was bad and did this same symptom prior.
Alright thanks, my CEL is on but it's normally on since I have no cats and such. I also can't find where to plug in one of my o2 sensors so that would also throw a CEL but thanks everybody I will switch it out and see how it goes.
You also get the same symptoms (bad maf reading) when you blow an IC pipe... Have you checked for leaks?
