Newegg's "Black November" month (for the nerds)

Now, I know I shouldn't complain because a deal is still a deal and those are always nice, but has anybody been keeping up w/Newegg's black friday deals that they are doing through all of November? The only things that even resemble their previous black friday deals has been on Fridays and even then I'm still bummed out You guys think it'll still have the best deals on actual Black Friday? I was really hoping to score a new cpu, mobo and ram but if they don't shoot any real deals then I can shop around everywhere for the same prices :/

I have been keeping my eyes peeled for a great deal on stuff for an HTPC and so far have been pretty let down by the Black November deals honestly.

Newegg has really gone downhill since they went public. As with most anyone else that becomes a slave to Wall St, they are more worried about their profit margin than they are giving good deals to customers.

I always watch [H] for my deals now. The people there are hawks when it comes to finding good deals, and will always tear apart every sales paper to tell you where the good stuff is.

I don't post there much, but I've been an [H] reader for over a decade now. It's my defacto forum/website for anything hardware/pc gaming related. My current vid card and the 4GB of the ram in my pc came from deals on that site.

Now, how does the site work for getting deals? Do people just post up when they find deals on specific items at so and so site?

Yep - that's exactly how it works. See a good deal? Post it up for your fellow [H] members! If there is some sort of hoop you have to jump through to get some of the deals, they'll tell you in the thread. Also, Newegg, Directron, and TigerDirect all give specials to people on the forum that they change out pretty regularly. Likewise, if you notice right now Galaxy is giving away video cards from now through Christmas. It looks like they are starting with low end cards and working their way up to the big ones (I want the new 580!!).

I wish I never found out about NewEgg... I've spent WAY too much money there over the years.
