As Limewire was a form of torrent sharing I'm going to stay on that track. There is other forms of sharing like sites that share via file sharing upload/download. E.G rapidshare/mediafire etc and then there is news groups like NZBs.

Ok first you need to download Utorrent.

    http://www.utorrent.com/

A beginners guide to using it. There is a lot to it and with time you will find a lot of little tricks to it.

    http://www.zeropaid.com/news/6184/ut...downloading-2/

    Always port forward your modem.

    http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm

on the same page there's a program called PFportchecker. Use it to check if your ports are forwarded and open.

    http://www.portforward.com/store/PFPortChecker.exe

There are a lot of Torrent sites out there. Be-careful of public sites because of fake/virus/prosecution. Always check the torrent for comments and or if its had a lot of traffic/peers vs leechers etc. You will learn as you go alone.

I use mostly private sites as they tend to be safer.

First, just like Google is a search engine of the net, Torrent Finder is the same with Torrent sites.

Just go get vuze and peerblock! Vuze is a torrent search engine and torrent downloader all in one, and peerblock keeps your isp out of your shit.

Peerblock does nothing really to help as it cannot keep up with who's checking what torrent when and where unless their ip address is in the list and that's impossible for you to know. And its impossible to stop your ISP from looking your shit (as all your traffic goes through them), all you can do is stop others seeing who you are. Which is what peerblock is trying to do. You are better to use things like http://www.easy-hide-ip.com/ or this one which I use http://www.hide-my-ip.com/hidemyip_google.shtml...

My God that seems like a lot of work.

Is there a pay site that isn't ridiculously priced and pretty much virus free?

Buy a rapidshare account (I think it's like $7 or $8/month?) and use warez-bb.org to find stuff to download.

Also, if you guys torrent, make sure you're forcing encryption in your client. Or get in on some private trackers. Or both. Personally, I do both.
