Encrypting your torrents will prevent throttling ISP’s from shaping your traffic.

    THAT IS ALL

You can still be looked at buy an outside source and reported to your ISP.

    What does encryption Do?

The RC4 encryption obfuscates not only the header but the entire stream. This means that it’s very hard for your ISP to detect that the traffic you are generating comes from BitTorrent.

Note that RC4 uses more CPU time than the plain encryption or no encryption. It is however harder to identify for traffic shaping devices...

Like I said, use encryption to stop your ISP from seeing what you're downloading, and private trackers to severely reduce the chance that someone in one of the media industries will find you...

Don't understand why you had to re-up that... You said why and I explained what its doing. As it may of been confusing for some that think it might stop all from seeing what your doing.

And Terrets I've had some nasty letters from Paramount Pictures!!! Don't be so sure. I've about 7TB of music and about 4TB in movies so I'm very careful now!!!

Use encryption and if you're downloading new music or movies exit uTorrent right after you finish downloading.

I've gotten two letters from my provider before and checking the time it said it was caught was when the movies were only uploading after being downloaded.

MMM to give you an IDEA I have 1800 torrents uploading/downloading running at this point...

I've learned that using encryption does nothing as they can still see your IP address.

Theres only one true way you can hide and thats by using a HMA VPN service...

Every month hundreds of people are getting pre-lawsuit notices and some are sued. Everything you download can be seen by your ISP. It can throttle or even block all your traffic. In addition, a recent European law allows ISP to disconnect you from the Internet.
While you are downloading via bittorrent, your IP address is fixed by trackers and is visible to all peers. Any of those peers can function as an Internet investigator working for RIAA. The encryption some bittorrent clients have, can only be used to circumvent traffic throttling and not for purpose of security. When your bittorrent client connects via VPN, it is impossible to see your real IP address. All data coming from you peers is also encrypted, so nobody knows what you download. Our VPN allows you to use the same internet service provider (ISP) you currently have and at the same time you remain anonymous in all your internet activities by routing your traffic through our servers via secure encrypted tunnel making it impossible even for your ISP to "spy" on you. By using our services, whenever you visit a website, send email, chat, ICQ, AIM, IRC, FTP, make internet phone calls etc., your real IP address is not provided to the other people involved in the transaction. This is a tremendous preventive measure against hacking. Most hacking is based on using your real IP address, which the hacker will not be able to get, without it they have no idea where to hack into. As a result we are in fact acting as a firewall keeping you safe from any abuse. Your internet provider retains a log file that shows the times your IP address was used and where it was connected to. Some internet providers save these logs indefinitely and they may give these files to whoever asks with or without a court order. It means every website you visited and everything you did is no longer private. If you use our VPN all your ISP logs would show is nothing other than an encrypted connection to our server. All internet traffic leaves our servers with same external address. All traffic of many users becomes mingled together and inseparable should someone try to do it. This is the anonymity.
I've found a new better service I will be using as my contract is finishing soon. http://hidemyass.com/vpn/

Basically all information to and from me to the VPN is encrypted so no-one knows who I am. All info to and from an outside source, to and from the VPN is as per normal. So basically the RIAA can go fuck themselves
