What site are you downloading music from ???

I have been outta town for a few weeks and upon returning home I found Limewire has been shutdown .. So I ask .. What else is out there ???

As Limewire was a form of torrent sharing I'm going to stay on that track. There is other forms of sharing like sites that share via file sharing upload/download. E.G rapidshare/mediafire etc and then there is news groups like NZBs.

Ok first you need to download Utorrent.

Always port forward your modem.

There are a lot of Torrent sites out there. Be-careful of public sites because of fake/virus/prosecution. Always check the torrent for comments and or if its had a lot of traffic/peers vs leechers etc. You will learn as you go alone.

I use mostly private sites as they tend to be safer.

Buy a rapidshare account (I think it's like $7 or $8/month?) and use warez-bb.org to find stuff to download.

Also, if you guys torrent, make sure you're forcing encryption in your client. Or get in on some private trackers. Or both. Personally, I do both.

Why??

Encryption will, for the most part, stop your ISP from seeing what you've been downloading.

Private trackers are much safer as far as record/movie companies snooping around for IPs to send angry letters to.

Since getting Pandora, I don't bother pirating music any longer. Just isn't wort it with the insane lawyers exploiting the legal system for blackmail letters.

The Pirate Bay and Demonoid are all I use for torrents Yes Lugnut use uTorrent. Unless you want to get into premium download sites like Rapid Share...Pay moneys.
