July 2014 COTMWe follow the earth. The earth follows the stars. The stars know their way and though the body dies. The stars will remain, like the waves of the sea and restless slate.
Oh I've had high bandwidth since about then, also, but most forums asked us to put "56k beware" or similar just to be nice to the people living in 1997.
I remember 2400, 9600 (whoopee!), then the shiznit 56k.
All for ANSI on BBSs. At 9600 it took like 15mins for a 1mb scanned gif.

Dude, I used to work on TRS-80's before AlGore even invented the internet.
I also remember when America Online was fully text-based and the pages still took 20-30 seconds to load.
Now I'm complaining because the only thing available at my house/office is aDSL with maximum 750k upload and it takes 1.5 minutes to upload a high-res photo to our online gallery. Down is 3mb (max for my area). But I'm hearing 15mb down and 5mb up "in the near future".
Used to be a member of a "pirate" board...remember them?
remember when a 100kb porn picture used to take 30 seconds to download?

I miss the old days, but not really.
And you would download 10 songs and your HDD was full lol.
