Megan, K-Sport, or D2 Coilovers

i'll let you guys know what i think of my d2's in another week or so--once they're installed. i plan on putting mine as high as they'll go, so we'll see how ride comfort is.

I'm not sure that megans are going to be that much more comfortable. I've never rode in a car with ksports, so I really can't compare the ride between the two. Don't expect the megans (or any coilovers) to be as soft as stock though.

Also, to throw another brand into the mix, I really like the Tein coilovers I have on my other car.

although i lack experience with them, i would tend to agree; all coilovers are going to be harsher than stock. how are teins with the control?

The EDFC is more of a gimmick than anything else. From my experience, you really just leave it on one setting during daily driving. Being able to change dampening on the fly is neat, but usually not necessary. Unless you are in to constantly adjusting your car, or you have some really nice mountain roads that you frequently drive through, you can get by just fine by setting it manually.

I have the Megans. They look really nice, and they hold up against the weather. Only thing I don't like is the stiff ride.

Why is it that you have to used your old top mounts on the KW even though you just spent $2k?

I've stated it many times, at least with my car, the Megans are firm without being too uncomfortable. I daily drive my car. Its my only form of transportation. I put the Megans in my car in August 07 with around 155k miles showing on the odometer. I now have 187k miles showing. There are a few thousand miles missing though because of a melted/shorted speed sensor wiring, then the replacement speed sensor died. I'm probably much closer to 197k miles. Thats 3 years and 42k miles. The only time they are even on the harsh side are with some of the nasty expansion joints on the highway. I dodge pot holes for the most part and hitting a pot hole in any car with any style suspension is going to be rough.

There's a BC RM edition that is 6kg front and 4kg rear. That's the closest to stock ride on a budget.

When I drive with Megans on the softest setting, it tends to be bouncy. If I stiffen it up to get rid of the bounciness, it gets too rough. There is a medium, and for the money I can't really complain.

I will try the BC RM next.
