Yes.

This is a turbine engine. It's compressing and igniting the fuel/oxygen inside the turbine. It's spitting out VERY hot, non combustible exhaust gasses. This not a turbo by any means.

The only way to make this work would be to have the exiting gasses entering the turbine side of a non jet engine turbocharger, but wouldn't be of much use seeing as our engines do a well enough job of pushing our little hair dryers. Not to mention doubling everything up from throttle to fuel source would just be a pain in the ass.
