Power Steering Pump Squeal

When I turn my steering wheel to full lock position (both ways) my power steering pump whines like an absolute pig. It's only at full lock, a millimeter before full lock there is no noise. I'm guessing my pump is on the way out?

Would the best option be to take it off and have a look, get a rebuild kit and rebuild it (it's not leaking) or just buy a replacement?

I'm leaning towards just getting a replacement so if anyone could point me in the right direction for a 93+ new or used one, or any other advice I would appreciate it.

P.S. Yes the fluid is full and belt is tight.

I'll try again to tighten it more, don't think I can get it any tighter though.

The power steering tensioner pulley seems a bit awkward to tighten compared to the alternator belt tensioner pulley...

I always use a 1/2in breaker bar for the ps tensioner. Fits into the notch perfectly.

Correct, perfect way of doing it!, then just have your 14mm or 17mm spanner on hand (sorry forget which one) to tighten her up.

Tim, My Diamante does this exactly like you say, but the car has almost 260K on it lol So i wouldnt worry too much! Although the Magna doesnt do it at all, and it's running the later model serpentine belt.

Cheap way to do it would be to get the 93+ pump and adjuster pulley, and get a 3 or 3.5L 3rd gen magna crank pulley from the wreckers, same as what I'm using on the magna of mine now
