This is what I built/modded.




Everything fits nicely in one very compact spot and I still have all my trunk space. BTW that a 12" sub not a 10".

2 12" might be to much for this box, the air space in it its very limited. This was an ebay box and even with the 1/2" mdf he used (yes not made of 3/4") to originally make the box you are limited to about .9 cubic ft of air and thats before sub displacement.

My box is divided in 2, amp side and sub side. On the amp side I have the wires that need to connect to the amp and the amp itself. The sub box it self its about .5 cubic ft which is the minimum for my sub but I also have some poly fill in there.

A good single 12 or 10 should be more than enough. You could also do 2 8" subs that was my original plan and easier to work with.

Yeah, I'm just trying to work with what I already have on hand, if it sounds like crap, I'll go to 10s if I need to. But I don't want to deal with selling the 12s and then buying 10s if I don't need to. Never should have sold my SmokinVR4 10" corner sub and gone to the dual 12s. :facepalm:

well youve probably seen my build before but ill add it to this thread, 1x 12'' sub in a custom made mdf and fibreglass bos in th ewing section ,works great and enough base :-)

Do you know the mounting depth on the 12" subs you have?? Im 99.99% this box will be waaaaaay smaller than what they need. I had 2 10" kicker cvrs before in there and they sounded "fine" when you were sitting up front. As you got closer to the back it sounded bad, the subs were taking the box apart plus the resonance was horrible to begin with.

The kickers I had in there were 5-9/16" in mounting depth and they were like 2mm away from hitting the back which is already waaaaaay close. I say they should be atleast 1" away from hitting the back.

That's what I want to convert mine to. Do you have dimensions for the box? I found rough ones online but they didn't make sense ... the size of the speakers was larger than the dimension of the panel, so I think it was wrong. I have dual 12s, I'm hoping to mount them facing rear and the amps on the box behind the seat, or vice-versa if I need to since the angle behind the seats gives more surface space to mount a 12 on. Not worried about peak sound quality, more about trunk space.

I'm about 99% sure he is using a shallow-mount 12 in the above-mentioned setup. That's why a lot of people go for the 10" solution with a box like that, your airspace is quite limited.

Yes it is a shallow sub, 3.5" deep in the 12" version and 3" in the 10" version.

For shallow sub I would recomend the SI BM, RE SL, or JL TW5.
