    Engine/Tranny Combined Weight

Just curious to know what the combined weight of a turbo engine/tranny combination weighs in at. Roughly is fine if no exact number is known.

Trans weighs in around 150 lbs if memory serves correctly. The engine is likely around 400 lbs with all accessories, best guess.

I know thats wrong, thats on the light side. The trans itself weighs 160 lbs. The torque converter weighs 38 lbs.

But that being said, the ATX weighs more than an AWD trans, which is what the OP is asking about.

Well i just tried to put my motor and trans together on my parents scale and it broke. They then beat me until i cried.

    Kidding lol
No seriously though, im not sure too many people have actually weighed the motor. Why do you ask though?

Excellent. Wanted to know because I didn't want to overload my engine hoist on the most extended arm setting (1/2 ton). I figured that the engine/tranny combo wasn't 1000lbs but I wanted to make sure first.
