NGK BCP5ES Non-Resistor Spark Plugs

Has anyone tried running NGK BCP5ES Non-Resistor Spark Plugs in 3000GT VR4's? Still in the stock heat range so should maintain stock driveability a little better. The other NGK non-resistor plugs, racing type per NGK I guess, are heat range 8 or higher.

6 is stock heat range. I have run BCP6ES with success. Very cheap at parts store.

ive used the R5671A8 and loved them. If i didnt wear plugs out every 6k miles id still be running them.

I too always used to run the r5671a-8 on my 11 sec car. Now on my stock vr4 I use the 6 heat range. BCP6es will do fine. 5 is too hot.

BCP5ES are the SOHC plugs if I remember right. I personally run BCP6ES in my SOHC. I would run 7s if I had a VR4.

Isn't the stock heat range? I could have swore I saw that on www.stealth316.com in the spark plug tech. I actually have a set of the NGK R5671A-8 on the car now, but am back towards stock HP and lots of city driving. Does anyone see any problem runnin the BCP5ES plug just for driveability purposes for the time being? or will the 5 indeed be to hot just for daily driving? Only running about 8psi or wastegate boost right now.

Considering the SOHC is rated at 160 hp and calls for the 5 stock, and the VR4 is double that power, well you do the math. 3sx calls for a 7 range for a stock VR4 and a 6 for a NA DOHC.

Yes, point taken. I re-read the spark plug info on www.stealth316.com and 6 was the stock heat range. Guess I'll stick with the ones I have the NGK R5671A-8. Pulled the front three the other day and they seem to be holding up like a stock plug. Not fouling or anything, maybe the old saying "if it isn't broken don't fix it" applies here.
