    Supra sidemount?

Has anyone here ever used a Supra side mount intercoolers ?

I found one for very cheap 100$ in perfect condition. Seller claims they are 14"X11"X5.5" so huge compared to stock units.

I wouldnt expect them to bolt on thats for sure.

I already have front mounted oil cooler so I think 5 " deep isnt an issue

Anyone know the specs for stock ic´s

Not that it likely helps but my TSI had a Supra sidemount on it. Of course it was modified to fit, but if it can be made to fit a DSM it can be made to fit a 3s.

Stock IC's are 8x8x3 which other than depth is about as big of a frontal area that is possible to fit on the sides. The very small stock end tanks allow for fitment of the 8x8 IC. The larger end tanks found on non-oe application intercoolers doesnt really allow for a larger core.(just not enough height from the headlight bucket to the splash guards on the fornt bumper which i wouldnt want to go below the profile of the bumper itself especially on a lowered car. While i can tolerate angrily if my bumper rubs on a mother fucking speed bump(i hate those god damn fucking things) having the possibility of my intercooler hit is unacceptable and a serious oversight while choosing an intercooler setup.

The problem with the supra sidemount is the plastic end tanks and the one pipe heading straight out the top. The top pipe needs to come out at a 90* to the intercooler or its just gonna hit the bottom of the headlight bucket. My DSM's while they sit 2" too high are tight to the headlight bucket so the Supra ones would never fit without some squirrely piping put in to mount them differently.

Personally to me, it wouldnt be worth the trouble.
