    Oil pressure.

Okay. So I've been doing some work on by 95 3000gt base. Converted halfway to tt, then decided I missed my car to much so I returned it to NA.

Replaced the oil pan and the pick up. I also removed the oil pressure switch and oil pressure sending unit during the TT conv. But re installed them.

I get in to start the car and it starts up but my oil pressure is at the bottom of the gauge. and my oil light is on. I turned it off immediatley. With the key in the on position the oil light is STILL on.

    what is the deal here?

Could be a bunch of things, have you doubled checked everything yet? Heres some things to start with.

something is unplugged, or bad connection
    sensor is clogged/plugged
    bad gasket on oil pickup
    oil pickup is not tight
    damaged sensor
didnt run long enough to build pressure, but it shouldnt take long at all.

Did you give it at least a couple seconds to build some pressure? (literally like 2 seconds)

Yeah. I gave it literally two seconds then shut it off.

I really don't understand what it could be.

The gauge does not move and the oil light is on. Should I just test it with a mechanical gauge?

check all your wiring. The blue plug on top of the intake manifold goes to the oil pressure switch IIRC. Did you put some sort of sealant on the sensor that could have blocked it when you re-installed it?

Just to be safe, did you check the dipstick and make sure that you put oil back in it, before you start taking things back apart to diagnose.

I didn't use any sealant. I'll double check the wiring but am 99% sure that its all hooked up.

Were you careful not to damage the screen of the pick-up? I can't imagine any reason you would lose oil pressure if all you did was drop the pan and pull the pickup off.

Is it possible you switched the wires for the light and gauge? I know that can happen fairly easily on a DSM and its been a while since I've been under a 3/S.
