Snazzy but I doubt it will really take hold for a while yet.

I don't know why not. Everything is going to be OBD III and everything is going to be controlled by the ECU. This eliminates unnecessary vacuum lines, and allows the ECU to control the boost ALWAYS. Allowing variable boost. I bet it will take hold quickly, and I wouldn't be surprised if one doesn't end up on a 3s within the next 2 years.
Requires a whole new way of doing things and no aftermarket parts will fit it (manifolds, IC piping, etc).
I see this technology being used on OEM products rather quickly, and maybe some aftermarket turbos for the time being, but in the future, yes, it will eventually take over.
Well I was talking about OEM in the first place. I bet these catch on very quick. This idea has been presented before, just not this clean and actually really done quite like this.
Although, I don't know why you say IC piping, it is just regular piping for the air charge. It uses a different flange type for the down-pipe/exhaust.

Different routing of the IC piping for aftermarket, depending on the vehicle.
Here's an article about the EFR turbos that goes really in depth. The lack of direct fitment onto common manifolds is going to hinder this turbo greatly. All of the big power guys are going to go with what's proven until we get some kind of new car that brings back the popularity of a car like DSMs or 240s or something.

Maybe LMI can get into the business of modifying these for our cars?![]()
