I pay $0 to my knowledge in last 6 years free dental/medical
I just did my benefits enrollment for 2010-2011 fiscal year. My medical per check is 60.62 and dental is 11.65. I get a $25/check discount for being a non-tobacco user and $2/check discount for having an annual physical (provided through work for free) totalling $45.27 bi-monthly and $1,086.48 annually. I have a $500 deductible and then 80/20 coverage with an additional $2500 out of pocket maximum.
I don't think that's bad.
Nope, not bad at all.
This thread title isn't very accurate though in what comparisons the OP wants to make.
Is it: What does your insurance cost (period), or, what are the your shares. Because if it is just shares then the answers will be all over the map with companies having their plan contributions being anywhere from 0 to 100%.
Not sure if the OP was looking to compare 100% out-of-pocket plans, company contributions comparisons, or something entirely different.
^Good looking out, I don't think that was thought all the way through when the thread was made. Pretty sure he was just looking for how much do you either write a check for, or what gets deducted from your paycheck, for your insurance. Factoring in what the employer contributes, if such is the case, would be important to get the exact, accurate, comparison from region to region. Though, I doubt many even know how much their employer pays; they only care/know about what comes out of their bottom line.
The tobacco thing has been a non-issue for my last two plans. We simply signed the form that we want insurance, and we have it. No medical questions, no background, no physicals, no pre-existing talk, nothing at all...just simply sign here.

As I couldn't afford insurance on my own I'm lucky to have it through my employer. I pay about $140 per month for medical, dental and vision.
