    Wasted Spark

I am curious as to whether or not this is how our car's ignition system is originally.

OK so if I was to run a four channel AEM C2DI with COP wired in a wasted spark configuration in conjunction with an AEM EMS v2 I am still improving what was there to begin with?

I ask because I bought the 4 channel C2DI, thinking it was the 8 channel. Seller even listed it as the 4 channel but the box's cover picture is the 8 channel, so I interpreted it as 8 channel for some messed up reason.

I have confirmed with the installation instructions that you can wire the C2DI in a wasted spark configuration, even an AEM tech person confirmed it. He did say the doing so would add more wiring. Plus it would only be good to 500-550 HP.

Now knowing that we start out with a wasted spark system and we have seen higher HP numbers than that (600-623) with the stock ignition and HKS twin power, I know that my 4 channel C2DI will suit me needs, I will just have to deal with the extra wiring.

Am I safe with that logic?

    Thanks guys

You will only be using 3 of the 4 channels.
