    Probably a dumb question but...

Would this kit work to convert my 15g's into a 19t? Says the compressor housing is machined to fit the 19t wheel, but what else would be needed if anything? http://cgi.ebay.com/Turbo-Compressor...item415361e87b

It should work, as the shaft is the same for both turbos. I'm looking into doing this myself sometime next year if I find the time, I have 13T's.

Awesome! I think I may need a rear turbo rebuild anyway, and for an extra $160 over what a rebuild kit is, I could have 19t's not a bad option

Unless the compressor wheels have the same od, the center section needs to be machined also. Blouch turbo has Brand new td04hl 19t's for $2100 anyway.

Which center section are you referring to? The kit comes with a new compressor housing that mates with the 19t wheel, what exactly would need to be machined?

The center section of the turbo that houses the bearings. On a mitsu turbo the center housing is also the compressor wheel backplate. Look at the compressor side of a mitsu center housing, there is an area machined into the housing that the back of the compressor fits into. If you go to a compressor with a different outside diameter, the machining of the center housing needs to be the right size.

Ah makes sense, I've never taken a turbo apart before, so I'm not too familiar with the insides of them. Any idea on the difference between 15g and 19t, speaking about the center section sizes, or know anywhere to get the specs?

Things to consider before doing this would be:

    1. fitting the wastegate to the compressor housing. the ones included will not fit.
    2. the size of the compressor housing clearing the forward motor mount.

I think there may be better options, like modifying your 13t/15g to accept a bigger compressor. Thats really simple machine work that should be fairly cheap.

so if this is the center cartridge your saying that the circular recessed part in the first pic is what would need to be enlarged?
