    Which Seats?

So, I thought I had decided what I was going to do for seats but some pictures I've seen recently have blown my ideas for the interior all to hell. I had originally decided to dump the factory seats because they're heavy and they aren't bolstered very well. I also want it to look as close to the factory as I can since I'm keeping the stock 3 point belts. This led me to the Viper style seats in the SRT-4. I fit in them perfectly, they are bolstered well, they are a lot lighter, and no holes for a 4 point or 5 point.

I would have them reupholstered to match the rest of the interior. However, I'm wondering if I should just stick with the stock seats and get some Leather Seats covers for them?

So, what do you think? And has anyone put SRT-4 seats in the 3S? I would love to see how it would look.

Unless you're pretty skinny, I hope you've sat in the SRT-4 Viper seats before.

The shoulder bolstering push my shoulders forward so end up hunched, and it's pretty obvious that it won't be comfortable for any extended trip. And that's coming from someone who has unadjustable seats.

    I'm 5'9~5'10 @ 185 lbs, by the way.

Sorry, I derped out and didn't read the whole post.

If you're comfortable in 'em, why not? Just hope that they don't sit too high.... Corbeau's seem to sit pretty high in our cars.

Leather seats suck. Our factory seats sucked. I could NEVER get into a comfortable position because it was like sitting on a sack of potatoes or something, and my seats were nearly mint.

Yeah, I'm skinny and I bought a pair for the other car. I fit in them just right. I know what you mean though. I have a friend that has a same issue with them that you described. My idea is that I would cut the mounting points off the factory tracks and weld them to the tracks of the skittle seats. I figure that should give me the same seating position.

Hmm, you're the first person I've heard say that Leather Seats are crap. To be honest I would rather have a shop I know does a good job reupholster the seats.

Leather seats suck because you stick to them, they get really hot, really cold, and you slide all over them if you try to do any spirited driving. I don't know anyone that likes leather seats, they just deal with them. I was going to have mine reupholstered in alcantara, and repadded too, which would have made them much nicer.

The SRT seats are a good choice, I was going to go with those eventually, or just pay extra for some recaro's that come in a dark gray leather.

I'm also 5'10 and about 160-165, I didn't have a problem with the shoulder area, but maybe they changed the seats over the years? This was several years ago when I was contemplating getting them.
