So what pre-existing product are you referring to? Do you mean the ecu or the harness? The 99 ecu's are more expensive due to rarity, so just developing a solution for them is not the way to go. There just aren't enough to go around and they cost too much. So yes the ecu's are there, but are not a viable option. But if you already have one I'm sure Brett or Jeff could work out a solution for you. As for the harnesses, Boomslang only offers harness extension for our cars that come with pre-wired plugs for piggy back controllers, and these harnesses are not that.
Everyone needs to take a step back, take a deep breath, and then come to terms with the fact that this tuning solution has been thoroughly reviewed for the best/most cost effective solution, and that solution will be the one that is offered. The information to make these mods will not be openly published due to a number of reasons but in the end does it really matter? This will be a fully tunable solution for much less than the cost of an AEM, which is the only other tuning solution for these cars that will offer similar performance.

Is this going to be a hardware only solution? Or, will a fully featured definition file be provided? How will the definition be distributed? ECMlink distributes their program for free, and only charge for the hardware. This makes it much easier for people to get a look at what they are buying.
Sounds awesome. Good work!
To keep this half on track for the flashing stuff, I'll spell this out as best as I can. Let's pretend your 3000GT is an "A" and a montero is a "M":
Boomslang = Pass-through harness. Pin 1 goes to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2, etc. It DOES NOT do anything except give you somewhere to splice wires into an intermediate harness, that is side "A1" to side "A2".
Adapter Harness = CONVERTS/adapts the "A" connectors to the "M" connectors so that you can plug it into the new ECU and go, without sitting on the driver's side floor, decoding pin-out diagrams, with some hacked up junkyard connectors, soldering them into your main harness. You CANNOT just plug your 3S harness into the other ECU ... it doesn't work. You NEED the adapter harness, OR if you MUST go the cheap route; find some junkyard connectors. Cut off your main connectors. Figure out the pin-out, and solder everything in the car. Then find the flash enable port and hook that up. And the OBDII port if you don't have it. Do it once, and I guarantee, you'll gladly spend the money on the harness; unless you're a masochist.
People have money spent on a variety of ECUs to find out which ones work, which ones don't, and the bits in-between. I contributed an ECU for research, too. These guys are doing hard work, spending their time and their money, and it should NOT be given away for free. Be happy that these flashable ECUs are even going to be offered; they could just keep them for themselves and let everyone keep running piggybacks or $2k AEM setups.
Give them some time to get things properly prepared. It's not a shop; it's a few guys doing something for a platform they enjoy, outside of their day jobs. Look at the resources that ECM link has, and yet they STILL haven't even shown a prototype of anything, over a year later, and have nothing but "it's coming. sometime." answers.
This is real. This is proven. This will happen. This would make a great Christmas present.![]()

I would not mind getting involved in testing and I have quite a bit of experience with the emanage blue, SAFC, and logging.

Hey guys can you answer quick. Im working on getting my EMU sold and have a buyer. But I need to know if I can run an open BOV with this setup??? And also can I run a MAP sensor or am I going to need a MAF? Im assuming I need a MAF.Because my setup right now does not have any intake, just an air filter directly on the turbo......Im going to need to be running 1000cc injectors as a side note.
Would it be possible to alter the 99 code to allow for a MAP instead of a MAF? I should have stayed in software engineering. What was I thinking when I wasnt doing homework and studying....
Thanks.
